A seventh-generation Texan, Andra Wisian has lived in Kendall County for more than 30 years. She and her husband, Kirby, built their home in eastern Kendall County in 1993, where they raised their two sons.

Since taking office as County Commissioner Precinct 2, Andra has focused on fiscal stewardship, public safety, and responsible growth—helping lower the county property-tax rate three consecutive years, expanding support for volunteer fire departments, and strengthening oversight of growth and infrastructure. She serves on regional water-planning, transportation, and public-defender committees, reflecting her commitment to cooperation and practical problem-solving.

Before being elected to Commissioners Court, Andra played a key leadership role in creating the Kendall County Youth Agriculture & Equestrian Center, a successful public-private partnership with Texas Parks & Wildlife that continues to benefit local youth. She was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Board of Directors in 2021, supporting watershed protection and conservation until stepping down in 2022 to serve the county full-time.

Her earlier service includes the Boerne ISD Bond Oversight Committee and the Boerne/Kendall County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. An active community volunteer, she has supported numerous local organizations, schools, and nonprofits, including St. John Lutheran Church, Hill Country Daily Bread, Boys & Girls Club of Boerne, and multiple volunteer fire departments.

Andra studied broadcast journalism at the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston–Victoria (now Texas A&M University Victoria). She enjoys riding her mare, Funky, hiking, and shooting sporting clays with her family.

Message from Commissioner Wisian

It is my great honor to serve the citizens of Kendall County Precinct 2. Together, we continue working to protect the irreplaceable character and culture that make our county such a special place to call home.

Since taking office, I have focused on:

  • Fiscal stewardship — Voting to lower the county property tax rate three years in a row and supporting efficiencies that help us live within our means while maintaining quality services.
  • Public safety — Strengthening support for our Sheriff’s Office, judicial system, and volunteer fire departments through additional staffing, facility improvements, and updated fire-safety standards.
  • Responsible growth and land stewardship — Working with landowners, developers, and partner agencies to promote sustainable water use, protect open space, and ensure growth pays its fair share of infrastructure needs.
  • Citizen engagement — Publishing regular newsletters, hosting community meetings, and maintaining open communication to keep residents informed and involved.

Serving as your County Commissioner is a privilege. I remain committed to being accessible, accountable, and focused on solutions that keep Kendall County strong for future generations.
